A few months ago I received a surprise phone call. I can't say I wasn't hoping for it. I was really hoping for it, and I'm so happy it came! I completely lucked out and these two asked me to photograph their day even though I'm currently living all the way over in St. Louis. I was "hoping" they would call because Andrew is my cousin and Ambria is my high school best friend's little sister. First of all, I was so happy for them, and second of all, there was no way I was going to be missing that party, with so many people I love!
So we made plans and chatted about what our strategy was going to be for getting our photos done in the hot July Arizona heat. But a few days before the wedding, we found out Tucson weather had different plans for us. Flood warnings and all day rain! Not exactly photographer friendly weather, but we made it work! And actually, it kind of turned out perfect! It cooled the temperatures down enough to where it was enjoyable to be outside, and we just grabbed a few umbrellas, used every ounce of googling skills I could muster, and found a covered place to take bride and groom photos at. Everyone went with the flow, and I just love so much the magic that came from dealing with the storm. Side note, I also hear that it's extra good luck to get married on a rainy Arizona day, just saying. :)
It was just so beautifully imperfectly perfect. I loved it.
