Glitter Social Medica Icons

So I've been wanting to post fun design things for a while. As I was revamping my blog I decided to create these sweet things. Too bad I decided not to use them. It didn't quite flow like I had hoped. I still don't love what I have but will make the switch soon. I hope someone finds them useful! Glitter backgrounds are super fun to create in photoshop! Subscribe to my blog! (Right sidebar) I'm planning on adding glitter backgrounds and other fun things as free downloads. There seems to be a lack because I had to create everything for my blog!

Grass

I love pictures with tall grass surrounding the subjects. So of course when I got the chance I decided to gets some shots with little Colbie in it. When I came inside Jake said he was afraid she'd get eaten by scorpions or something.

(Side note: the scene from Jurassic Park where they're running through the grass with the velociraptors and someone yells, "Don't go into the long grass!" just came through my mind. We come from a movie quoting family. :) )

Anyway, I loved these shots and gave them a pink tinge in photoshop to warm them up and make them seem more magical. Enjoy!

Morning Light

Okay, so still excited. I have some things to work on still. Some of these turned out blurry so I need to either turn up the ISO and speed up the shutter speed or stop jiggling the camera :). But I think these turned out pretty good. These are edited, but when I was looking through all of them, pre-edit, I was so excited because they already looked so good! I love my camera! I think I might start charging people for photo shoots......maybe with a bit more practice :) I'm practicing on my cousin and his wife and little boy this week. Hopefully it turns out good! They'll be my models to introduce people to me taking pictures. You've got to start somewhere right?

I think I'm one of those people who likes to be good at everything, but because of that I end up not being super good at just one thing. I'd like to say I'll put everything else down and stop trying to be good at it all, but then...where's the fun in that? Life's an adventure!

Lighting

Got a few new pictures to post. Turns out the tip about morning and evening light makes a HUGE difference.  A few people even said they looked professionally done (and I didn't even tell them I had taken them :)

Early Christmas Present

So for months I've been begging Jake to let me get a fancy camera. Even before I started begging I would take his little point and shoot camera and try to get all artistic with it. It worked.....okay. Mostly because I had cute models (husband and baby :)). I'm not biased or anything.

Recently we had a conversation that went like this:

Jake: Trish, don't expect me to just surprise you with a fancy camera for Christmas. That's something we'll need to talk about and do a lot of research on. That's a lot of money.

Trisha: I know, I know. $350 to $500 dollars is a lot of money.

Jake: What? Only that much?....I thought those cost over $2000. Sure, Merry Christmas. It's all yours.

Trisha: (Dumb founded expression on face) Haha, what? ........you thought it was over $2000? Well some models.....you mean I can really get one?!!

Jake: Don't get too excited.....

Trisha: WAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! (running around crazy)

And that's how it began :) I'm starting to think that's a good way to get what I want. Make him believe it's super expensive....and then let be only kind of expensive. Camera down. Next step: new couch :)

Well, this turned out to be a great time of year for me to get a camera. After weeks of researching and watching tutorials and reviews on cameras I chose the Nikon D3200. My friend Marquette (the one who took my awesome blog pictures) also recommended Nikon. Anyway, black friday came, it was ordered, and last night I got my beautiful new camera in the mail.

Here is the start of hopefully many photography blog posts:) Here are just a few of my favorite pics from the past....well, I'd say 24 hours, but it's been less than that. Can you tell I'm excited?!!!?!?!
