As you can tell, Aaron and Stephanie are a VERY loved couple! If nothing else, the size of their bridal party should be a testament to that! Stephanie has been the sweetest and most thoughtful bride! It feels like forever ago that we met at the Starbucks together with her sister, Michelle, and she told me all about her handsome and hardworking fiance and her wedding beautiful and exciting wedding plans!
In September we did their engagement session, which was a total dream! If you haven't seen it, pop on over here to take a look!
Every moment of their wedding day was so special and so fun! From nearly breaking the bed in the hotel room that the girls prepped in (ever seen 11 girls bounce on a bed at once?), cruising away on golf carts with 10 bridesmaids, and to Aaron's brothers and Stephanie's cousin's hilarious skit roasting the groom, it was a pretty amazing day! So many special moments that I hope these photos can help Stephanie and Aaron remember for a long, long time!
So, before the wedding I sent Stephanie a questionnaire asking for wedding details and there's a section that asks "is there anything else I should know?" Most of my bride's leave it blank or add one line, but Stephanie filled hers up with all the beautiful meaningful details that their wedding was planned around and I absolutely loved it! It made the day so much more meaningful to me too!
Just to highlight a few:
1. Did you wonder why this blog was titled Tulips and Blush Wedding? There's a reason for the Tulips, and not just because they are beautiful! Aaron is 100% Dutch and they wanted to incorporate tulips throughout the wedding details, bouquets, and centerpieces as a tribute to his Dutch heritage.
2. Stephanie wore her Godmother's Saskia Veil, which was absolutely beautiful!
3. The Bride's grandparents had been married nearly 70 years so they wanted to do a special dance to highlight them! Also they wanted to highlight her parents who were hitting 30 years of marriage just a couple days after their own wedding day! So incredible!
4. The most hilarious wedding skit I've ever seen. Probably the only one I've seen, but me and all their guests were dying laughing! Apparently it's tradition at Dutch weddings to do skits that poke fun at the bride and/or groom! You'll see a few pictures below! Just look for the guy in the short shorts! ;)
Oh you guys! I feel so lucky to have been the one to capture this day for them, and just to be there to celebrate these two! So happy for you Stephanie and Aaron! Or should I say, Mr. and Mrs. Van Ommering! I hope you enjoy these photos now and for years to come!! #heputavanommeringonit
Michelle, the maid of honor/Stephanie's sister, bought this gorgeous ring box for Stephanie just for these photos! That rose is real, but somehow preserved to last a super long time!
Aaron gifted Stephanie this perfume the day of the wedding. I've heard smells bring back memories better than other senses. So special to have a new perfume used on your wedding day to help those memories come back to you!
Reading Aaron's wedding day love letter.
So, this daddy/daughter first look didn't go exactly as planned, but these two made the best of it! Look how cute they are anyway! Stephanie just smiled the whole day, even when the normal wedding day hiccups were happening!
The mother/son first look!
When in doubt, have a large bridal party! :) These ladies were the absolute sweetest, and so, so STUNNING!
Such a beautiful wedding ceremony!
Seriously so cute to have a trolley transport the bridal party to the reception!
The above photo was probably my favorite photo from the whole day! These two are so darn cute!
After we did the full bridal party photos, we looked around for the perfect spot for bridesmaid shots. We saw this gorgeous patch of purple flowers off in the distance. It didn't take us long to hijack some golf carts and cruise over to grab some shots with the limited time we had! These girls were so fun!
Loved the tulips in these centerpieces! Such a beautiful, happy, detail! Anyone else think of tulips as a "happy" flower? :)
Their tables were numbered with pictures of them at those ages!
Michelle revealing all the secrets of Stephanie's diary as a teenager, haha. :)
And so begins the skits! Such a fun reception!
And you can bet there was so much dancing! Stephanie's family is from Nicaragua and let me tell you, she's got moves! And so did her guests!
Such an incredible wedding day! Congrats again, Stephanie and Aaron!
xoxo,
Trisha
